Did your employees have been showing up at work looking restless in the morning? and they give excuses to leave early because of the long journey they need to go through? Often we hear about people complaining about the hassle and the traffic each day but there are people who figured out the alternatives.

"Office on wheels"

Research shows that 30% of Belgian working population spends more than 30 minutes commuting to or from work. So the Flanders Institute for Mobility (VIM) is launching a commuter bus equipped with the same technology as the office as the solution to make use of the time. It is called "Office on wheels".

During the test period, the bus will be actively used and mostly drive to business parks that are difficult, or even impossible to reach by public transport. The office bus will follow a daily predetermined route. The VIM explained as soon as an employee gets on the bus, his workday begins, because the bus offers the same facilities as a standard office. Thanks to a perfect network connection, the employees can get to their documents in the cloud or even log on to the office server.

Using plane

Although it only took about 14 minutes to go to work by car, Frantisek Hadrava is a 45-year Czech locksmith, who decided to get to work by plane. Hadrava told Reuters that it would take around 4-5 minutes if he flew directly, but he takes a bit of a detour so that he doesn’t disturb people early in the morning. The plane, ultralight with an open cockpit and a top speed of 146 km/h, was built by Hadrava himself. It took two years of his spare time and cost about € 3,700 (RM 17,294.77) to build.

Riding a gondola

For a lot of people in Bolivia, what used to be an uncomfortable two-hour bus journey is now an enjoyable gondola ride half that time to go to work. The first gondola system was introduced two years ago that connects La Paz and El Alto.

Similarly to Hong Kong’s MTR system, commuters that use Mi Teleférico can get on at any station, with gondolas leaving about every 10 seconds btween 6:30 am and 11:30 pm. It is a much better way to cope with the 2,000-foot height difference between the two cities.
