According to Human Resource Minister V. Sivakumar, 1,092 housewives registered for the Housewives Social Security Scheme (SKSSR) over seven days.

He stated that the number was recorded within the first week of the program's implementation on December 1.

He added that the government hopes to register 500,000 of the country's 2.9 million housewives by next year.

"The project is open to all women below 55 who are Malaysian nationals or permanent residents. There is no age restriction.

"Eligible housewives must contribute RM120 per year in advance to get Domestic Disaster Benefits and Invalidity Benefits for 12 months," he said.

Depending on the sorts of benefits and injuries, payments under this scheme range from RM200 to RM50,000.

Medical, permanent disability, constant-attendance allowance, physical or dialysis facilities, burial benefits, and survivors' pensions are among the offered benefits.
