Bantuan Khas Kewangan 2026 (BKK): Who Is Eligible and When Is the Payment Date?

The Prime Minister announced Bantuan Khas Kewangan 2026 (BKK 2026) during the presentation of the 2026 Budget. The government will provide RM500 to penjawat awam in Gred 15 and below, including pegawai lantikan kontrak. In addition, RM250 will be given to pesara Kerajaan and veteran.

RM500 for Penjawat Awam (Gred 15 and Below)

RM500 will be paid to officers in the Perkhidmatan Awam Gred 15 and below or equivalent. This includes:

Pegawai lantikan tetap
Pegawai sementara
Pegawai lantikan kontrak under Contract of Service (COS)
Pekerja Sambilan Harian

The payment also covers officers who are currently on leave, whether on cuti bergaji penuh, cuti separuh gaji, or cuti tanpa gaji, subject to the conditions stated in the official pekeliling.

RM250 for Pesara dan Veteran

RM250 will be paid to:

Pesara Kerajaan
Veteran berpencen
Veteran tidak berpencen

The pekeliling also confirms that this assistance is extended to eligible pesara under the skim pencen and certain pesara KWSP who retired from Perkhidmatan Awam under approved retirement options.

Who Is Eligible for RM500?

According to the official JPA circular, the following groups are eligible for RM500:

Permanent officers (Pegawai lantikan tetap)
Temporary officers (Pegawai sementara)
Contract officers (Pegawai lantikan kontrak), both Contract of Service (COS) and Daily Part-Time Workers (Pekerja Sambilan Harian)
Officers on full-pay leave (Pegawai bercuti bergaji penuh)
Officers on half-pay leave (Pegawai bercuti separuh gaji)
Officers on unpaid leave (Pegawai bercuti tanpa gaji)
Officers on secondment, including those serving in agencies with separate salary management. Payment will be made by the borrowing agency
MySTEP personnel who are still in service (Personel MySTEP still in service)
Interim teachers (Guru interim)
Drivers (Pemandu) appointed personally by officers in Grade Utama B and above or Grade Khas A and above who are entitled to drivers but are not provided one by their department
Drivers (Pemandu) appointed personally by Members of Administration (Anggota Pentadbiran), Judges (Hakim), and Judicial Commissioners (Pesuruhjaya Kehakiman)

Who Is Eligible for RM250?

The RM250 payment is given to:

Pesara Kerajaan
Veteran berpencen
Veteran tidak berpencen

Pesara and veteran who are reappointed and still serving under lantikan tetap, lantikan sementara, or Contract of Service (COS) are eligible to receive RM500 in total.

The payment will be shared between Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) or Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran (JHEV) and the jabatan where they are currently serving, as stated in the official pekeliling.

Tarikh Bayaran Bantuan Khas Penjawat Awam 2026

BKK 2026 will be paid on 13 March 2026.

The March 2026 monthly gaji will be paid on 16 March 2026, based on the official jadual pembayaran gaji for 2026. This means the special assistance will be credited before the monthly gaji.

The jabatan where the pegawai is serving on the payment date is responsible for making the payment.

Is Bantuan Khas Kewangan Taxable?

No. The Bantuan Khas Kewangan 2026 payment is exempted from income tax under subseksyen 127(3A) Akta Cukai Pendapatan 1967.

What Is Bantuan Khas Kewangan (BKK)?
