Hire NowCiti Malaysia is providing its staff with extended Covid-19 medical benefits to support their wellbeing and health during the pandemic.
The medical benefits will cover over 11,000 of Citi Malaysia's staff and dependents for private hospitalisation costs of up to RM30,000. Additionally, the banking company will also cover 90% of Covid-19 related medical expenses or private hospitalisation exceeding the coverage limit.
Medical benefits
In a statement yesterday, Citi Malaysia said that eligible staff and dependents would have the benefit activated under the Ministry of Health's Covid-19 Management Guidelines, including medical evaluation and approval.
Chief executive officer of Citi Malaysia, Usman Ahmed, stated the bank considered the continuing risks of the Covid-19 pandemic and focused on staff wellbeing. Hence, the bank upgraded its medical coverage to ensure workers and dependents receive swift medical care and support without worrying about the financial burden of treatment-related costs.
For Covid-19 cases under Categories 1 and 2, Citi Malaysia also offers home care coverage for the staff throughout their 10-day quarantine period, including on-site and virtual medical support.
The home care coverage's benefits include:
-
Personalised briefings on self-care,
-
Daily remote monitoring by a nurse,
-
A doctor's physical evaluation,
-
Provision of oxygen concentrators following medical recommendation,
-
24-hour hotline support.
Workers who receive the Covid-19 vaccine are also given two consecutive off-days for each vaccination dose to help them with their recovery.
The medical benefits also include virtual medical support.
Mental wellness
Moreover, under the bank's Employee Assistance Programme, staff and their dependents are given counselling and mental health support to help them with their post-Covid-19 recovery course.
As a proactive action, Citi Malaysia also provides its employees with access to online counselling clinics to manage the challenges emerging from the evolving Covid-19 pandemic.
Focus on employee wellbeing
Usman said that Citi Malaysia's future of work model that will be rolled out in the coming months would also provide employees greater flexibility. The bank has consistently prioritised workers' welfare throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
In April last year, Citi Malaysia provided a special compensation award of RM1,000 each for workers that earn a base salary of RM60,000 and below per annum. This award was the bank's method to recognise the hardship their employees are likely to face during the pandemic and to help ease their financial burden.
