Hire NowProtectHealth Corp Sdn Bhd advised local companies and organisations to join the Vaccination Centre (PPV) Outreach Programme if they want to schedule booster dose vaccination for their staff or members.
They can do so by contacting ProtectHealth-registered private medical practitioners (PMPs) and healthcare NGOs.
An easier method to vaccinate workers
In a statement, ProtectHealth said that the programme offers a more controlled and easier method for the workers, especially the ones working in factories and immobile as it also provides for home vaccination as well.
PMPs and healthcare non-profits would submit an application to open the PPV. Before this, most workers would go to the PPV, but now, employers can choose to set up a vaccination drive ranging from one to seven days for their staff.
ProtectHealth CEO Datuk Dr Anas Alam Faizli stated that it also encourages PMPs and healthcare NGOs to work with employers and community leaders who seek to perform targeted vaccination at their area, workplace, or factory to increase vaccination coverage.
He said that the programme is one of the ways to speed the booster dose vaccination and focuses on selected groups and sectors for a short-term programme (one to seven days), depending on the number of vaccine recipients.
PMPs and healthcare NGOs have been conducting the outreach programme since November 2021 in order to expand access to the booster dose and increase take-up rates across the country.
This PPV Outreach Programme replaces the Industry PPV which was coordinated by the ministries such as Retail Industry Vaccination Programme (RiVAC), Agrofood Industry Vaccination Programme (AiVAC) and Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (Pikas). The programme also replaces the previous outreach programmes with healthcare NGOs covering rural areas.
More about the PPV Outreach Programme
The Government bears the cost of the vaccine, provided free of charge and the administration of the vaccine where ProtectHealth would pay the healthcare NGOs and the PMPs for every vaccination provided.
The provider is compensated for all clinical services rendered. Employers are not allowed to charge vaccine recipients, and they must provide a suitable location and non-clinical infrastructure for PMPs and healthcare NGOs to provide vaccinations. Employers also cannot charge any fee to their employees.
ProtectHealth will only pay PMPs and healthcare NGOs after the vaccination process is completed.
ProtectHealth further stated that no agent or third party was ever hired as an intermediary in the PPV Outreach Program's application process.
ProtectHealth had effectively contributed 49.5% of the total vaccination in the country as of January 9, 2022, which is equivalent to over 29 million doses in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NCIP).
It has also contributed 72.1% of all booster dosage vaccinations, equating to over 5.6 million doses in the NCIP-Booster.
There have also been 111 PPV Outreach Programs, with 69 PPV Outreach vaccinations for employees at workplaces and 42 PPV Outreach vaccines for the general public.
