The latest improvements to the i-Invest portal
i-Invest has a number of new web features, including::
-
Transactional functions,
-
Suitability assessment, and
-
Useful information on approved unit trust funds and fund management institutions (FMIs) offering them,
are now accessible in the i-Akaun mobile application, with more features to come in the months ahead.
The EPF has developed the Historical Investment Performance Dashboard to allow users to study investment performance returns across different time frames in order to help them make better decisions.
This innovative feature, which is a first of its kind in the domestic fund management sector, shows investment returns based on three main categories, allowing for comparisons at the fund, FMI, and overall portfolio levels.
The EPF has also created an investment simulator to assist members in assessing investment decisions based on five main parameters. Members can now simulate investment objectives based on:
-
Their choice of the initial investment amount,
-
The monthly investment amount,
-
The investment period,
-
The rate of return, or
-
The ending investment value.
EPF has also added the Lipper-assigned benchmarks to the upgraded i-Invest platform so members can compare against the performance of unit trust funds.
Previous improvements to the i-Invest portal
Last year, EPF introduced the i-Invest self-service online investment facility, which allows members to buy up to eight unit trust funds from up to five Fund Management Institutions (FMIs) in one transaction. Members could previously only buy multiple unit trust funds from an FMI in a single transaction. This tool for i-Invest gave members more options and efficiency when it comes to investing.
While members can purchase unit trust funds from many FMIs, these transactions can only be done via authorized Institutional Unit Trust Scheme Advisers (IUTAs) who provide funds from a variety of FMIs. If members so desire, they can still purchase funds through individual FMIs.
Additionally, before completing any transaction, i-Invest users will be asked to undergo an investment suitability assessment. Members' risk tolerances will be profiled, allowing them to make informed investment decisions based on their risk appetites.
More about i-Invest
The i-Invest portal, which was introduced in August 2019, provides users with a variety of functionalities, flexibility, and convenience for making investment decisions and monitoring their investments at any time and anywhere. Members can use this facility to compare unit trust funds offered by FMIs and get a consolidated view of their investment holdings, as well as information on investment costs, fund performance history, and FMI statutory information.
The EPF guarantees that governance requirements within i-Invest are strictly followed by participating bodies as a self-service facility that empowers members to take control of their financial future.
The EPF continues to improve the portal for the benefit of its members on a regular basis, and welcomes input on the i-Invest portal through the link “Survey on EPF Members Awareness and Experience Using the i-Invest Portal”.
