Hiring activity in Malaysia remains strong, with 96,700 active job vacancies currently available on MYFutureJobs as of 30 June 2026, according to the Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA).

The ministry said a total of 668,321 job vacancies have been advertised on MYFutureJobs, the employment portal managed by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), demonstrating that employment opportunities continue to be available across various industries and skill levels.

KESUMA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring Malaysians have access to quality employment opportunities through a more responsive, inclusive, and resilient labour market ecosystem in line with the Malaysia Madani vision.

What This Means for Employers

The latest MYFutureJobs data highlights that competition for talent remains active across multiple industries.

Employers currently hiring should take note of several trends:

  • Nearly 40% of active vacancies are high-skilled jobs, indicating continued demand for qualified local talent.

  • More than 30% of active vacancies are in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

  • Almost 20% of active vacancies offer monthly salaries exceeding RM5,000, reflecting demand for experienced and skilled professionals.

These figures suggest employers may need to remain competitive in their recruitment strategies, particularly when hiring for specialised or experienced roles.

PERKESO Continues to Support Job Seekers

Beyond job advertisements, PERKESO continues to support job seekers through MYFutureJobs by providing:

  • Job matching

  • Career counselling

  • Resume reviews

  • Interview preparation

  • Reskilling programmes

  • Upskilling programmes

These initiatives aim to help more Malaysians return to the workforce quickly while improving their employability.

Nearly 3,000 Career Programmes Held Nationwide

KESUMA also continues to expand access to employment opportunities through MYFutureJobs Career Fairs organised nationwide.

Between January and May 2026:

  • 2,989 career programmes were organised.

  • 86,594 job seekers participated.

  • 14,029 individuals successfully secured employment.

  • 15,809 candidates were shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process.

Mobility Assistance Available for Eligible Job Seekers

The Madani Government, through PERKESO, also provides Mobility Assistance (Bantuan Mobiliti) of up to RM1,000 for eligible job seekers who need to relocate to start a new job.

KESUMA to Continue Working with Employers

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan said KESUMA, through PERKESO, will continue strengthening cooperation with employers and industry players to help more Malaysians secure quality employment, improve their skills, and build sustainable careers.

He also encouraged Malaysians who are currently seeking employment or considering a career change to make use of the MYFutureJobs platform to explore available opportunities.

Tips for Employers Hiring in a Competitive Market

With hiring demand remaining strong, employers can improve their recruitment efforts by:

  • Writing clear and detailed job advertisements.

  • Highlighting career growth opportunities and employee benefits.

  • Streamlining the hiring process to avoid losing qualified candidates.

  • Using multiple recruitment channels to reach a wider talent pool.
