Hire NowKuala Lumpur will see significant and rolling road and expressway closures from October 25 to 29, 2025, as Malaysia hosts the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.
This high-profile event, expected to be one of the largest in ASEAN history, will host Heads of State/Government from 10 ASEAN nations along with major Dialogue Partners like the US, China, and others. These measures are necessary to ensure smooth movement and high-level security for all leaders and international delegates.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has stressed that the closures will be temporary and phased, not a 24-hour "lockdown," but traffic disruption will be substantial, particularly around the city centre.
