Hire NowMaybank Asset Management (MAM) recently announced the launch of Maybank Flexible Retirement Solution, a retirement solution designed to help people complement their retirement plans.
The solution includes two new global Shariah-compliant funds, allowing investors to choose between two mixed asset funds tailored for their retirement planning:

Maybank Global Wealth Moderate-I Fund and
-
Maybank Global Wealth Growth-I Fund.
The Maybank Flexible Retirement Solution provides investors with a first-in-market Shariah-compliant flexible retirement-focused solution to supplement and diversify their retirement planning.
Investors who use the Maybank Flexible Retirement Solution will be able to choose and switch between two distinct funds and share classes to meet their changing lifestyle and retirement needs.

In the above table, the Accumulation Class and Distribution Class refer to how investors prefer to approach their earned income.
If the investor chooses the Accumulation Class, the income and capital gains will be reinvested into the fund to produce compounded returns.
Meanwhile, Distribution Class offers payouts regularly, allowing the investor to earn passive income. It's also worth noting that neither of the funds listed above is part of the Private Retirement Scheme (PRS) funds.
Maybank Global Wealth Moderate-I Fund has two share classes:

whereas Maybank Global Wealth Growth-I Fund has only one share class:

Investors can buy units in the Funds with an RM1,000 minimum initial investment and RM100 minimum additional investments.

According to MAM, both funds use a dynamic asset allocation and downside risk management strategy, which is vital for investors saving for retirement in the medium to long term. By incorporating shariah filters into the investment process, the funds will be able to access higher-quality assets.
The solution also enables investors to have unrivalled access to a broad portfolio of Shariah-compliant global assets. With a target return of 6% to 8% per annum, the funds aim to generate capital growth over the medium to long term.
It includes dynamic asset allocation and downside risk management, which is crucial for investors saving for retirement in the medium to long term. Furthermore, the funds are able to collect higher-quality assets by including Shariah-filters into the investment process.
The Maybank Flexible Retirement Solution is available at all Maybank branches across the country.
Ahmad Najib Nazlan, the chief executive officer of MAM Malaysia, emphasised that retirement planning should not be something Malaysians consider only when they are older, especially considering the rising cost of living and inflation. He also said that people should begin planning for retirement as soon as they are ready, regardless of age.
Najib stated that investors from all segments will be able to determine the level of risk they want to take and how their retirement planning should align with their goals and needs.
