When they asked John Lennon what he wanted to be when he grow up. Instead of saying any professions, he said he wanted to be "happy". But they laughed and said he doesn't understand the question. He replied they don't understand life.

People often measure the level of success by wealth of the individual, how much they make money or how they are associated with other people. However, for Richard Branson, the founder of the Virgin Groups, "happiness" is the key for success and that is the true measure of success people should be looking at.

"The simple fact is if you do good and have fun, the money will come," he said. Companies that have been built are based on making positive change to people's lives.

He never felt successful by meeting people with big names and famous faces. The happiest time for him would be the time when he spends with his family. His family is his biggest achievement. If his family is happy, he is happy, and that is what makes him feels so successful.

He is fortunate to be living an extraordinary life—meeting extraordinary people, attends amazing events, but he never felt like he "made it". He didn't take work as work or play as play. He thought of them as living and growing. He never wanted to "made it", he wanted to continue making it!

Although most people would assume the business success and wealth, have brought him happiness, he feels his business is successful because he is happy.

"Life’s too short to waste your time doing things that don’t light your fire. If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, or aren’t having a lot of fun – despite the fact that you’re making a lot of money or rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous – then it’s time to move on to the something that does make you happy."
