The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2021 organiser has rescheduled the event to November 18 until 21, 2021. After reviewing the current pandemic situation in Malaysia, Invest Selangor Bhd decided to bring the event to a later date.

More about SIBS 2021

In 2020, SIBS featured an entirely virtual event. However, SIBS 2021 will feature a hybrid model of virtual and physical events for the first time.

The organiser will hold the physical exhibitions and conferences at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. As for the virtual event, it will be hosted at the selangorbusinesshub.my portal, where partakers can:

  • Access an abundant selection of on-demand content,

  • Meet with potential partners via the B2B business-matching feature,

  • Network virtually through an interactive user chat interface and more!

Since 2016, SIBS has been a platform for ASEAN and international businesses to discover the massive potential of the Malaysian market and serve as a springboard to enter the broader ASEAN market with more than 600 million consumers and over 200 of the world's largest companies.

The four-day SIBS 2021 will feature six unique events:

  • The 7th Selangor International Expo (F&B),

  • The 2nd Selangor R&D and Innovation Expo,

  • The 4th Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention,

  • The 5th Selangor ASEAN Business Conference,

  • The 7th Selangor International Expo (Medic) 1st Edition, and

  • The 1st Selangor Industrial Park Expo.

According to Dato' Teng Chang Khim, Selangor State Executive Councillor, Selangor is the regional leader in five promising core clusters, particularly:

  • Electrical and electronics,

  • Life sciences,

  • Food and beverage,

  • Transport equipment, and

  • Machinery and equipment.

He added that these clusters include industries such as aerospace and pharmaceuticals, which will serve as the strategic platforms to accelerate Selangor's economic growth and sustainability.

Despite the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic, the organiser said that it remains confident that SIBS 2021 will be successful. It also anticipates total take-up of all 840 available booths and 15,000 trade visitors arriving from 24 countries over the four-day summit.
