
Six Factory Workers Charged With Using Fake MC

Hire NowAt the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate's Court, three men pleaded guilty while three women claimed trial for using fake sick leave certificates.
They are all employees at a factory in Bukit Minyak, Seberang Prai and were charged for the offences between October 2020 and February 2021.
Muhammad Amir Md Ishak, 19, and Mohamad Hafizi Zainuddin, 28, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Mohd Zaki Abd Rahman to the charge of using a false sick leave certificate with knowledge of it being forged. Both men pleaded guilty.
The forgeries happened at a company in Seberang Prai. The charge was filed under Section 465 of the Penal Code, which imposes a maximum imprisonment term of two years and a fine, or both.
Deputy Public Prosecutor M. Kalaivaanan stated as it was a serious offence to knowingly utilise a forged document, they should be given jail time and a hefty fine.
The workers were charged with committing forgery by submitting fake medical certificates.
Magistrate Zaki gave both men an RM2,700 fine each and sentenced them to five days of jail from the arrest date on March 23.
Nurul Izzah Abdul Razak, 21, a factory worker, pleaded not guilty to the charge in the same court. The woman is charged with the same offence on February 13 this year at the same location.
The Deputy Public Prosecutor asked for bail to be set at RM9,000. Magistrate Zaki set RM5,000 bail with one surety after the woman's lawyer said she was now unemployed and was dependent on her sister.
Her lawyer said that the woman lives with her parents and sister, who will post bail, and her sister will ensure that she will appear in court.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Zulhakimi Masdi, 23, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Sri Pracha Nanthini Balabedha to the same charge at the same location for a fake sick leave certificate dated December 26, 2020.
The magistrate fined the man RM3,500 and sentenced him to five days' jail from the conviction date after his lawyer said he earned RM1,400 and was responsible for his unemployed parents.
Pleaded not guilty
Nur Farah Amira Alisham, 21, and Marsya Fatini Mohd Rani, 20, pleaded not guilty to the same charges.
Nur Farah was given RM4,000 bail with one surety. She was charged with using a fake sick leave certificate dated January 23 this year.
Marsya Fatini, a factory operator, was allowed bail of RM4,000 with one surety for two charges dated February 4 and February 26, 2021. Her lawyer said she has two children and earns RM1,400 while her husband earns RM1,200.
Magistrate Sri Pracha set May 3 for case mention.
