How Are Payments Made?

The government uses two main channels:

Bank Transfer

Funds are automatically credited to the recipient’s registered bank account. If account details were updated after 29 July 2025, only Phase 4 payments will go to the new account, while earlier phases remain in the old one.

Cash at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN)

For recipients without bank accounts or where transfers failed, cash can be collected at BSN branches. In remote Sabah and Sarawak areas without banking access, the government arranges cash handovers at designated local points.

Employers should remind staff to check their STR approval status online before going to BSN, to avoid unnecessary trips.
