TNB Reskilling Malaysia Programme
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Hasan Arifin, stated the programmes, namely TNB Reskilling Malaysia, would offer reskilling to workers who lost their jobs during the pandemic and training for new graduates to acquire a job.
He said about RM43 million was allocated for the TNB reskilling programme to retrain 17,500 persons until 2024.
Since the programme began in October 2021, TNB Integrated Learning Solution Sdn Bhd (ILSAS) has managed to train and match jobs for 2,376 workers with 268 employers in the industry.
The reskilling programme is free for employers and workers who wish to join the 10-day training.
Companies can enroll their employees for TNB Reskilling Programme.
One of the employers who benefited from the programme is Grass2Route Sdn Bhd. The company's chief human development officer Mohd Khairil Othman said two workers who joined the programme had shown major improvements in their performance.
The company's employee, Muhamad Syahrul Amir Mat Sarih, who participated in the programme in March, said it helped him gain new skills and was eventually promoted.
The 26-year-old telecommunication tower technician said he gained new knowledge, such as installing solar panels on fields and rooftops.
"Participating in this programme has allowed me to enhance my existing knowledge and also helped me gain new skills on the technical terms of my job. It made me return to work confidently.
"Throughout the ten days, I also received practical training from the talented trainers. But the best experience is after the programme I earned a small promotion," he said.
