Hire NowFree Malaysia Today reported that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad proposed that government and private sector workers should stop all their work at 11 am and perform light exercise for 15 minutes every day.
“If you can, get out from the air-conditioned office. Not everyone, but certain groups. Take 15 minutes to exercise, and then go back to work. Of course, after exercising, don’t go for coffee and chit chat. It will cancel out whatever positive impact from the workout we have done”

Mahathir said that in today’s world, workers would work in the office and not get up until evening.
“Muscles not used in the long run will become weak. Our bodies must be active. We must use all that is given to us. Stay active if you want to live a long life. If not, we will be weaker,” according to Mahathir, who is also a medical doctor.
The Prime Minister said that a healthy lifestyle campaign is needed to encourage people to exercise and practice healthy habits. Mahathir said he had no secrets for still being healthy at the age of 93, except to always maintain a healthy lifestyle, according to New Straits Times .
“Move your body for at least a few minutes. The more you walk the better. That way, you can be healthier and live a longer life; which will be better for the country. Malaysia is an ageing nation. Senior citizens cannot do much now so we need to care for them. The more we read, write, and argue, all these will contribute to an active mind and body,” said the Langkawi MP.

He also advised people to not eat too much fast food, and not to eat too much. He said that his mother once advised him to stop eating if the food still tastes good, as he might end up eating more than he should.
The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman also advised the public to not smoke and eat excessively and avoid alcoholic beverage to stay healthy. He also reminded Malaysians to exercise more to avoid muscle contraction when they got older.
"Our muscle, if we do not use it, after some time it contracts and becomes weak. My house has a lift, but I take the stairs,” he said.
Dr Mahathir said all it takes is to take one step at a time.
