A good read will take you to a new world and reading right before your bedtime is a really good routine that you can start doing now, if you haven't already! Don't know what to read? Here's what 5 super successful people read before going to sleep:

1. Bill gates

Even on days that he is coming home late, the founder of Microsoft said that he’ll read one hour before bed every night. Public health and history of shipping containers are his range of reading. Some of his other favourite books are on the lighter side:

  • Hyperbole and a Half, by Allie Brosh.
  • The Magic of Reality, by Richard Dawkins.
  • What If?, by Randall Munroe.

2. Ira Glass

This American Life” host's leisure reading is not leisure after all. His readings always have professional application to it and sometimes he seems like a grad student. When they are doing a big story on the show, he will write a paper on the issue!

3. Gary Whitehill

Whitehill directs corporate innovation strategy on Advisory Boards at AOL and Dell and creates over $250M in new market value within 3 years by directing. Sounds pretty amazing huh? He reads 40 pages from any books he is currently reading and scrolls through political, culture and business issues every night.

4. Vera Wang

She was recruited immediately by Vogue magazine upon graduating as an editor and now she is one of the world's renowned designers. Her bedroom is her sanctuary, as she told Fortune. She spends her night browsing through the things that her staff sends to her. Compared to during the day, it is the only time when she could focus on her work without having seven people come to her at once!

5. Joel Gascoigne

Different for Gascoigne, he avoids reading anything that is related to work before sleep. The CEO and founder of Buffer said his best reads in bed is fiction apart from other reads. Some books that he believed had a great impact on his life are:

  • The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  •  The Monk and the Riddle: The Art of Creating a Life While Making a Living by Randy Komisar
  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
