Hire NowUnder the Strategic Programme for Empowering the People and the Economy (PEMERKASA), the government announces GKP 3.0. Every micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) is eligible to receive a one-off Special Prihatin Grant (GKP) 3.0 financial assistance of RM1,000.
Micro SMEs that have received GKP 1.0 and GKP 2.0 will receive an extra payment of RM1,000 and will not need to re-apply for GKP3.0. Micro SMEs that have never received GKP can apply for GKP 3.0 online via the GKP Portal, starting April 1 until April 15, 2021 (15 days).
Micro SMEs that did not pass and have not received the previous GKP can still submit a new application for review.
Those who are eligible will receive RM1,000.
Micro SMEs eligible for GKP 3.0 are businesses that meet the micro-SME criteria and registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), Local Authority or Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) as of February 28, 2021.
After the GKP database has been updated, GKP 3.0 payment will be made on June 2021, which is expected to benefit almost 1.2 million micro SMEs.
The entire cost of GKP 3.0 will involve an additional allocation of RM1.2 billion. The total cost of GKP financial assistance, including GKP 1.0, GKP 2.0, GKP Tambahan and GKP 3.0, is RM4.78 billion and has benefitted 1.2 million micro SMEs.

1. What is GKP 3.0?
It is financial aid granted to eligible micro SMEs and extra payment to existing GKP 1.0 and GKP 2.0 recipients, on a one-off basis of RM1,000, to help alleviate the businesses' financial burden while enhancing production and service productivity.
2. What are the requirements for the GKP 3.0 application?
- Have not received GKP 1.0 and GKP 2.0;
- Malaysian citizens;
- Applicants who own micro SMEs as follows:
- Total annual sales or turnover less than RM300,000; and
- The amount of full-time employees does not surpass four people, not including the owners;
- Registered with the following parties;
- LHDN before or on February 28 2021; or
- Local authority or SSM before or on February 28 2021;
- The micro SME is still actively running its business at the time they apply.
3. Who can receive GKP 3.0?
Two parties are eligible for GKP 3.0:
- GKP 1.0 and 2.0 recipients will receive a one-off additional payment of RM1,000.
- Applicants who pass the new application for GKP 3.0 will receive a one-off payment of RM1,000.
4. Where can one apply for GKP 3.0?
You can apply online only via the GKP portal at https://gkp.hasil.gov.my/.
5. When does the GKP 3.0 application date begin?
You can start applying from April 1 until April 15.
6. When can one check the application result?
You can check the application result starting early June 21 at the same portal.
7. How will applicants receive the GKP 3.0 payment?
The payment will be credited to the applicant's personal bank account registered on the GKP 3.0 application. One must ensure that the bank account is active.
8. If I just registered and currently running a business in 2021 (before February 28), should I report sales for 2020?
If you registered the business in 2021 and before February 28 2021, you would only need to report sales received in 2021.
9. I have registered and been running a business before or in 2020. When should I report sales on the GKP 3.0 application?
If you registered the business and are operating before or in 2020, you would need to report the total sales for 2020 and 2021.
10. If someone has passed GKP 3.0 for new applications, are they eligible to receive additional GKP under the PERMAI package?
No. The additional GKP is a one-off financial aid for micro SMEs that have previously received GKP 1.0 and GKP 2.0.
11. If someone had received GKP before and wanted to decline GKP assistance, can they return the GKP payment?
Yes, by doing the following:
- Submit a letter to the Ministry of Finance, stating the full name, IC number and reason for return.
- Attach a bank draft/check in the name of the Accountant General of Malaysia (according to the return amount).
- Submit the letters and bank drafts/checks to the Ministry of Finance at the address: National Budget Office Ministry of Finance Malaysia Precinct 2, 62592 Putrajaya
