Fully vaccinated workers only
Chairman of State Housing and Local Government Committee Ayub Jamil stated that the 14-day period is for individuals after receiving two doses of the Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer vaccines. Meanwhile, those who receive a single dose for CanSino and Johnson & Johnson vaccines must wait for 28 days.
Ayub said that according to the National Recovery Plan's (NRP) Phase 1 standard operating procedures (SOPs) applicable starting August 20 and updated on September 3, the manufacturing sector is only permitted to operate after all their employees had been completely vaccinated.
He added that individuals who are fully vaccinated are only those who meet the criteria.
He also reminded manufacturing sector companies to conduct the Rapid Test Kit Antigen (RTK-Ag) on all their employees every two weeks. The companies must bear the costs of the testing.
Workers must be fully vaccinated and tested for Covid-19 every two weeks.
Johor's manufacturing sector reopens
Yesterday, Ayub announced that the manufacturing sector in Johor had been allowed to operate according to the percentage of the fully vaccinated workforce.
He said that the industrial sector involving manufacturing in Johor are allowed to operate based on the SOPs issued by the National Security Council (MKN).
He stated that there is no longer the issue of waiting for approval to operate until the state reaches 50% vaccination, as 51.1% of the adult population in Johor are fully vaccinated. Additionally, 82% of them have received their first dose as of September 3.
He remarked that industry players in the manufacturing sector with a 40% fully vaccinated workforce could operate at 60% capacity. Those with 60% fully vaccinated employees could operate at 100% capacity.
Ayub also urged employers and workers to abide by the SOPs at the workplace.
He said that he hoped the convenience given to help spur the economy in the state would not deter efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The latest SOPs for the manufacturing sector
According to the latest MKN's SOPs for Phase One of the NRP, these are the operating capacity guidelines:
-
40%-59% fully vaccinated employees: Permitted to operate at 60% capacity,
-
60%-79% fully vaccinated employees: Permitted to operate at 80% capacity,
-
80%-100% fully vaccinated employees: Permitted to operate at 100% capacity.
The current SOPs requires companies to conduct the RTK Antigen Testing through self-testing or at health facilities every two weeks for workers. It is a proactive measure to stop the spread of Covid-19 among staff. Existing SOPs such as facemasks, physical distancing, and others are still mandatory for companies.
