The Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) is a government cash aid programme that many employees depend on to cover living costs. As an employer, you need to know the payment schedule to plan payroll cycles, time staff communication, and understand when workers might feel more financially supported.

What Is the STR Schedule 2025?

In 2025, the STR will be released in four phases. Payments are spread out so that assistance reaches recipients at different points in the year. Each phase is linked to household category, income level, and application status.

Who Gets STR

The scheme covers two main groups: single/senior citizens and households.

Single / Senior Citizen Without Spouse

  • Single: Income RM2,500 and below, aged 21–59, or persons with disability (OKU) aged 19–59. Eligible for up to RM600 (RM150 per phase).

  • Senior citizen without spouse: Income RM5,000 and below, aged 60 and above. Eligible for up to RM600 (RM150 per phase).

Household Category

  • Household income RM2,500 and below: Eligible for RM1,000–RM2,500 depending on the number of children. For example, households with 3–4 children can receive up to RM2,000, distributed equally across four phases.

  • Household income RM2,501–RM5,000: Eligible for RM500–RM1,250 depending on the number of children.

STR Payment Dates for Phases 1, 2, 3 & 4

Here is the official timeline for STR 2025:

  • Phase 1: 22–28 January 2025

  • Phase 2: 24 March 2025 (existing recipients), 3 April 2025 (new approvals/appeals)

  • Phase 3: From 12 August 2025, distributed in stages

  • Phase 4: November 2025 (exact date to be confirmed)

STR Payment Methods

There are two official channels:

Bank Transfer

Funds are credited directly into the recipient’s registered bank account. This is the fastest method and avoids delays.

Cash Collection at BSN

For recipients without valid bank accounts or those living in remote areas, payments can be collected at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches. Employees in rural Sabah and Sarawak commonly use this option.

How to Check STR Payment Schedule

Employees can verify their payment status through the official STR portal: https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my. Follow these steps below:

  1. Click Login MySTR

  2. Enter the applicant’s MyKad number 

  3. Confirm security keyword

  4. Information displayed will include:

  • Applicant’s name

  • Applicant’s MyKad number

  • Application status

  • Phase 1 payment details (if eligible)

  1. Click the Phase 1 Payment Check menu

  2. Enter password

Aside from the official STR portal, you can also check the payment status in the MySTR mobile app (downloadable on both Android and iOS).
