The Employment Act 1955 (Amendment) 2022, which is set to take effect on 1 January 2023, will include additional provisions for flexible working arrangements (FWAs).

In accordance with this, Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) launched its FWA@Workplace programme on 8 September 2022, which aims to assist employers who wish to learn about FWAs and how to adopt them in their organisations.

TalentCorp will assist employers in developing an "effective and sustainable FWA integration strategy" in their organisations through this project, which will continue from now until 31 December 2022, and will include full consultancy services to adopt work-life practices.

Companies who effectively implement FWA will also be eligible for the FWA Income Tax Deduction supported by TalentCorp.

FWA@Workplace

The FWA@Workplace project was launched to encourage companies to embrace flexible work arrangements (FWA) as a way of working.

Organisations that want to improve or implement FWA can do so through FWA@Workplace by participating in one of the three programmes that best meet their needs:

  • FWA Readiness Assessment: A thorough programme that assists organisations in determining their capabilities and readiness to implement FWA.

  • FWA Workshop: Designed to provide your HR with the technical knowledge needed to implement FWA in your organisation, and

  • FWA Implementation: A 10-day consultation programme that helps organisations adopt new methods of working in a more structured and sustainable manner in order to retain and recruit a larger pool of talent while driving growth and productivity.

Do you need to pay to participate in the FWA@Workplace initiative?

You do not need to pay to participate in this initiative. The government fully bears FWA@Workplace's cost to benefit employers.

Who can participate in the FWA@Workplace initiative?

Malaysian organisations of all sizes and types are eligible to participate in the FWA@Workplace initiative.
