Hire NowManaging housing and facility records is a routine but crucial task for many employers, especially those with staff entitled to government quarters. With the launch of ProMIS Malaysia in 2025, the government has modernised this process through a central online platform. Employers who know how to use the system effectively will save time, reduce paperwork, and stay aligned with official requirements.
What is ProMIS?
The Property Management Information System (ProMIS) is a new digital platform developed by the Bahagian Pengurusan Hartanah (BPH), Jabatan Perdana Menteri, to replace the older SBBPH system.
It was officially launched in July 2025 and now acts as the central tool for managing federal housing, government quarters, and related facilities. For employers, ProMIS matters because it improves transparency, streamlines applications, and ensures records are updated securely.
Functions of ProMIS
ProMIS was built with multiple functions that support both individuals and organisations:
-
Application management, where employers or employees can apply for government quarters or housing allocation online.
-
Property allocation, which units fairly according to eligibility, location, and needs.
-
Document management. All letters, offer notices, and keys are recorded digitally.
-
Data accuracy for records for tenants and properties is kept updated at all times.
-
Reporting. Employers can generate structured reports for compliance or HR monitoring.
-
Secure data access. The platform uses HTTPS and encryption, ensuring data is kept confidential.
Advantages of Using ProMIS
For companies and HR teams, the benefits of ProMIS are clear:
-
Efficiency for all applications and approvals happens faster, cutting down manual paperwork.
-
Centralised records where all information is stored safely in one place and backed up.
-
Compliance where integration with government agencies means employers stay aligned with official requirements.
-
Transparency in decisions and allocations is recorded digitally, reducing disputes.
