Many employees have gotten used to the remote and hybrid work arrangements that most feel little reason to go back to the office. But as the pandemic wanes and public health measures become stronger, many organizations now want to reunite and resume an in-office workplace setting. 

But if your job posting does not have the right information or is overloaded with requirements, they may turn away or be less likely to apply. 

Most of us have a gist of an unstructured interview, the type where an interviewer ‘ freestyle’ and asks whatever questions they want. On the other hand, a structured interview is carefully crafted to evaluate the candidate based on the criteria for a specific role or job. 

Raising the retirement age over 60, Datuk Dr. Syed Hussain Syed Husman, head of the Malaysian Employers Federation, recommended allowing employees above 60  to continue working depending on mutual agreement with their employer. Employing older workers may appear to be an inescapable financial burden for some companies. Still, there are various advantages that, if correctly handled, can give your company a competitive advantage.

The hiring dilemma is real. As remote and hybrid work arrangements are becoming more popular daily, more companies are adapting to the trend and recruiting a mix of freelancers, part-timers, and full-time employees. 

Negative feedback can be uncomfortable to utter, but if poorly delivered, it can be damaging and unhelpful. While we have all been on the receiving end of criticism, it still proves to be difficult to give or take. 

Since 2005, many Malaysian companies have yet to employ foreign employees directly. Instead, recruitment services outsource foreign employees to businesses. A modification made in 2012 to the Employment Act of 1955 codified this outsourcing practice. 

Despite its name, “quiet quitters” don't actually leave the company, but they take a step back from their engagement as well as emotional investment in their jobs. After the video went viral, the rest was history. The phrase became mainstream and created a wave of quiet quitters around the world. 

Every interaction you have with a candidate, even if they are not yet an employee, impacts their perception of you and your image of the organization. Everything matters your timely messaging, your friendly, interactive demeanour, the time between stages, setting expectations, a whole shebang.

Workers are resigning numbers this year, making an already difficult post-pandemic season nearly unmanageable for HR. It's no longer just about finding new talent - which is challenging in this job market - but also about retaining the talent you have already.
