Malaysian Employers Federation's (MEF) president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman, said that a ransomware attack hit the organisation in early July.

The government has extended the freeze on foreign and domestic workers intake until the end of the year.

Employers who plan to hire expatriates must advertise job vacancies for at least 30 days on the MYFuture Jobs Portal under the HR Ministry. 

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob today announced that the Government will extend the movement control order (MCO) for another two weeks.

Malaysia has entered a state of emergency and it will last until Aug 1, 2021. It could also end earlier, depending on the state of coronavirus infections.

The Human Resources Minister also announced that employers must provide quarantine centres to isolate their foreign workers who contracted COVID-19.

Human Resources Minister said that his ministry lamented that there were still organisations that failed to make reports on their employees who tested positive for the disease.

These amendments will improve the protection of workers' rights in Malaysia.

According to the survey, 62% of 1,010 women said they had experienced sexual harassment at the workplace and 56% experienced workplace discrimination.
