Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia's newly elected prime minister, has announced November 28 as a public holiday in recognition of the support the rakyat gave him and his party in the recent general election.

Istana Negara announced in a statement that Anwar would be sworn in as Malaysia's tenth prime minister at 5 p.m. on Thursday (Nov 24).
